Alessandro Bedeschi to take on new professional challenges after 10 years with AEDT and FENA.

Femke den Hartog succeeds him as new Secretary General of AEDT.

After almost ten years as Secretary General of AEDT  – The European Association of Fashion Retailers, and Director for European Affairs of FENA – The European Federation of Furniture Retailers, in March 2013  Alessandro Bedeschi will  become Associate Partner at bxl-law, a full service EU Affairs Consultancy with specific expertise in the areas of multi-channel retailing, food, travel, tourism and association management. In this new function, Alessandro will continue to follow EU policy issues related to fashion, footwear, furniture, furnishings and other consumer goods as well as providing strategic advice to companies and organisations.

Femke den Hartog succeeds him as the new Secretary General of AEDT. Femke holds a Master in International Relations and Organisations from the University of Groningen in the Nehterlands  and  she is  Advisor for International and Economic Affairs at CBWMITEX, the Dutch non-food retail organisation representing 13,000 stores  which sell mainly fashion, footwear and furniture.

AEDT and FENA have a long-standing  and fruitful cooperation and share a common Secretariat in Brussels. In order to continue to ensure the effective representation of the sectors at EU level, they will soon appoint a new European Affairs Advisor.
