Over the years, modern day screen siren Diane Kruger has become accustomed to sashaying her way down Cannes' red carpet. A pursuit she indulges in several times during any one festival... much to many a designer and photographer's delight.

The German actress and official Jury member chose an Oscar-like strapless draped number embroidered with thousands of shimmering gold sequins for the screening of Michael Haneke's film Amour, accessorized with a Mini Tube clutch and Suki sandals courtesy of Jimmy Choo - undoubtedly her most dazzling moment to date at the 65th Cannes Festival. The dress was designed by well-versed patron of style Dame Vivienne Westwood. Who else could have fashioned a roll of fabric into such a jaw-dropping appreciation of the female form, after all?

Fräulein Kruger seems to have the fashion houses eating out her hand: Chanel and Giambattista Valli have also made it into the actress' Cannes wardrobe this year. But I think you'll agree, the Westwood gown deserves the Palme d'or for the best "IT-dress to impress".
